Microbial Diversity Reduction in Soil by Long-Term Climate Warming

چکیده

Global environmental changes are altering where species dwell and how they interact with one another. Organisms exist in intricate communities thousands of different species, some which beneficial, destructive, others have no influence at all. Because natural made up organisms widely disparate life histories modes change, it is improbable that will all react the same manner to environment. The consequences global change on interactions between plants herbivores pollinators been extensively reported. Less attention has soil bacteria plants, as well microorganisms. microorganisms govern nutrients vary, feed allow neighbours cohabit, manage plant populations, may a significant impact sorts an ecosystem operates. This study investigates another, both directly indirectly. It also covers novel fascinating areas inquiry, implications these relationships makeup operation ecosystems.

Enhanced decomposition of stable soil organic carbon and microbial catabolic potentials by long-term field warming.

Quantifying soil organic carbon (SOC) decomposition under warming is critical to predict carbon-climate feedbacks. According to the substrate regulating principle, SOC decomposition would decrease as labile SOC declines under field warming, but observations of SOC decomposition under warming do not always support this prediction. This discrepancy could result from varying changes in SOC compone...

Long-term forest soil warming alters microbial communities in temperate forest soils

Soil microbes are major drivers of soil carbon cycling, yet we lack an understanding of how climate warming will affect microbial communities. Three ongoing field studies at the Harvard Forest Long-term Ecological Research (LTER) site (Petersham, MA) have warmed soils 5°C above ambient temperatures for 5, 8, and 20 years. We used this chronosequence to test the hypothesis that soil microbial co...

Microbial Diversity and Sensorial Properties of Malga Cheese from Trentino (Italy) after Long-Term Ageing Period

Background: Malga cheeses are made in artisanal and seasonal dairies located in the Alps. This study was carried out to determine microbial diversity and sensorial properties of Malga cheese from Trentino (Italy) after long-term ageing period. The effects of adding the Fermalga Bacterial Pools (FBP) on microbiota biodiversity of cheese were also evaluated. Methods: Populations of Lactic Acid B...

Long-term effects of compost amendment of soil on functional and structural diversity and microbial activity

We studied the effects of applying different composts (urban organic waste, green waste, manure and sewage sludge), mineral fertilizer and compost plus mineral fertilizer on chemical, biological and soil microbiological parameters over a 12-year period. The organic C and total N levels in soils were increased by all compost and compost + N treatments. Microbial biomass C was significantly (P £ ...

Effect of Silene vulgaris and Heavy Metal Pollution on Soil Microbial Diversity in Long-Term Contaminated Soil

In this study, we analysed the impact of heavy metals and plant rhizodeposition on the structure of indigenous microbial communities in rhizosphere and bulk soil that had been exposed to heavy metals for more than 150 years. Samples of the rhizosphere of Silene vulgaris and non-rhizosphere soils 250 and 450 m from the source of emission that had different metal concentrations were collected for...
